Does Shred-it offer free shredding?
Free shredding is a misconception. Some providers may offer you the cost savings, but they do so at the expense of your security, by cutting corners and exposing your confidential information. At Shred-it, we offer a Secure Chain of Custody with our services, from start to finish. So you know you’re always protected.
What does Shred-it do with paper?
After the paper has been securely shredded, the confetti-sized pieces are bundled and recycled into paper products.

For a recurring paper shredding service, pricing is customized based on your preferences. We have a drop-off option available if pick-up isn’t your preferred service option. Minimum fees apply and vary by geographical location.
Are there different pricing options for regularly scheduled shredding?
Yes, we do offer different pricing depending on what you require. Pricing plans are completely customizable to your needs. One of our reps would be happy to explain this to you in more detail and answer any questions you may have.
Are there discounts available for bulk shredding?
We often have deals for bulk shredding services and you can always find out more by clicking here. Also, for bulk shreds the price per box decreases as volume increases.
What are the terms and conditions for the discounts offered?
Our current offer entitles new and existing customers up to a 25% discount of Shred-it’s local list price for one-time shredding service, paper or hard drive, with a minimum value of $1,000 plus applicable taxes, or a 10% discount off Shred-it’s local list price for orders with a value of less than $1,000 plus applicable taxes, subject to a minimum visit charge of $252. This offer will only be valid for a specific length of time, the expiry date of our current offer can be found in our terms and conditions on this page. One discount per customer per site. Additional charges may apply if stairs or additional labor required during service. This offer is subject to availability, is for participating branches in North America only, is non-transferable, has no monetary value and cannot be combined with any other offer. Express (2-day) and Priority (5-day) One Time Shredding Service are not eligible for this offer. The discounted service must be pre-booked by calling 844.950.4622.

What is the Certificate of Destruction provided with all services?
Our Proof of Service certificate (formally referred to as a Certificate of Destruction) is provided to your business after every material pick up to acknowledge that your documents have been collected by a secure destruction company for proper disposal.
Are there express or priority service options for one-time shredding?
Yes. We can work with you to ensure that your shredding is done on time and we currently have both 2 day and 5 day schedules. If you require other timing, feel free to let us know and we will work to accommodate your needs.

What type of materials does Shred-it shred?
We can shred just about anything, but we mostly shred paper. And instead of using conventional strip-cut shredders, we use cross-cut shredding technology that can reduce the paper to fine, confetti-like pieces. Our unique technology can even destroy other materials like fabric, plastic, electronics and metals. Yes, that means CDs, USB drives, videotapes, DVDs and even casino chips.
