Join us in Times Square for Good Riddance Day

Shred-it and Forget it! Ring in 2016 anew by destroying any and all of your forgettable memories of 2015.

For this annual New Year’s tradition, Shred-it will provide one of its mobile shredding trucks in Times Square for participants to watch their forgettable or outlandish memories of 2015 get permanently, securely shredded and eventually recycled.

The annual event will take place on December 28, 2015 from noon – 1 PM in New York City’s Times Square. It is open to the public to destroy any unpleasant, embarrassing and downright forgettable memories from 2015 and pave the way for new memories in 2016.

"Good Riddance Day was inspired by a Latin American tradition in which New Year’s revelers put artifacts or bad memories from the previous year into dolls and set them on fire,” said Tim Tompkins, President of the Times Square Alliance. “Here in Times Square, we might not be starting a bonfire, but we do encourage all New Yorkers and visitors alike to join us in the shredding of forgettable memories from this year.
