:: Shred-it Community Shred® Events
Consumer fraud and identity theft are becoming an epidemic in our communities. To raise awareness and to promote prevention, Shred-it organizes Community Shred events in the cities where we have a presence.
These events give individuals the opportunity to have their confidential documents destroyed on site, free of charge. Whether it is small business documents you no longer need or personal papers you want to safely dispose of, Shred-it’s trucks contain cutting-edge proprietary technology that can handle the job.
Held in both public and private places such as police stations and shopping center parking lots, Community Shred events vary in size and in scope. Shred-it's been known to serve as many as 2,000 community members at one Community Shred event, with more than 70 tons of paper recycled.
So what’s in it for us, you ask? The answer is simple. Community Shred events increase the knowledge of identity theft, making our communities safer places to live. Generating goodwill with potential new clients and strengthening existing customer relationships also makes good business sense.
