Estimating the Price of Your Shred-it Service

Estimating your shredding cost is an important first step in evaluating budgetary fit. For this purpose, here are some key considerations that will help you in this process.

When considering document destruction services, price should be only one of the factors that influence your decision. It’s equally important to understand the cost of a security breach to your business and to make sure you select an experienced on site shredding company to help protect your customers, employees and business.

The following factors are actually more important than the cost of the shredding service:

  • Security – Shredding is done at your location, behind a locked security screen and you can watch the process if necessary
  • Expertise – Personnel have undergone rigorous training and background checks; they are knowledgeable about privacy laws and will help you identify areas of risk within your organization
  • Reputation – The service provider has a long history with no security breaches and can provide references
  • Tailored Solution – The service you receive is based upon your specific requirements

The cost of securely destroying confidential information depends on a number of factors, which we’ve outlined below.

One-Time, On Site Shredding Services

Shred-it’s One-Time service is ideal for customers who have a few boxes or a storage room full of confidential documents that they need destroyed.  Upon agreement of service details, our security-screened professional arrives at your location on the scheduled date, retrieves the boxes and shreds your confidential materials in our truck, at your location.  Upon
completion, you will receive a Certificate of Destruction
confirming that your materials have been securely destroyed.

Pricing for this service is based on the:

  • Volume of material being destroyed at one time
  • Accessibility of the material being destroyed
  • The price is estimated on the:
    • Total banker’s boxes
    • Total copy paper boxes
    • Total file cabinet drawers
    • Total Shred-it containers

Regularly Scheduled, On Site Shredding Services

Shred-it’s Regularly-Scheduled on site service is ideal for customers who have an ongoing need for document destruction. Upon agreement of service details, we place our secure consoles in your office for your employees to deposit their discarded documents.  Our security-screened professional arrives at your location at a pre-determined date and shreds your confidential

service, you will receive a Certificate of Destruction confirming
that your materials have been securely destroyed.

Pricing for this service is tailored to your needs, based on:

  • Frequency of service; Options include:

    influenced by the number of:
    • Employees
    • Geographic locations

E-Media Destruction (One-time)

More than 80% of a company’s computers contain sensitive or confidential information. Erasing doesn’t ensure the information is gone so it’s not surprising that hard drives are targeted by thieves. At Shred-it, our hard drive and e-media destruction service ensures that your data can’t be recreated or accessed.

Pricing is based on the number of items that require
destruction including:

  • Hard Drives
laptop, desktop, PATA, SATA and many more
  • Backup Magnetic Tapes
DLT, mini cartridges and many more
  • Floppy Disk
3.5 inch disk, 5.25 inch disks, and many more
